What are Transfer of Land Act fees?

When you buy or sell property in Victoria, the transfer of ownership must be registered with Land Services Victoria (formerly Land Use Victoria). This registration attracts a government fee under the Transfer of Land Act 1958, which is separate from stamp duty and is based on the purchase price of the property.
